WHY USE US?

Small Claims Advisor is a small operation. We offer a personal service, tailored to the exact details of your case. We don’t use templates or bulk filing operations, everything is focused on your particular needs. 

There’s a simple answer – cost.

Unless yours is a high value case allocated to the fast track or multi track, your legal costs will have to be borne by you. Using solicitors, who typically will charge you £250 per hour, or barristers at £500 per hour, can mean that running a case in court results in you paying more than you can hope to recover. By comparison, our base rate for charges to clients is just £80 per hour.

First of all, we don’t have all the costs associated with traditional legal practices – no expensive wood-panelled offices or highly paid secretaries. Most of our work is done online. We also keep you involved at every stage of the case – we provide the wording for your documents, but you will approve them, sign and date them, and post them.

If the case goes to court, we can attend court as your Lay Representative, which is allowed under the Lay Representatives (Rights of Audience) Order 1999. This means that you will have to be there as well, and we will arrange to meet up with you beforehand to agree how your case will be argued. See our Fees page for details of the costs for this.
